MASSAGE THERAPY since 2004
Massage is the direct manual manipulation of soft tissues such as muscle, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints, by an educated and knowledgeable Practitioner (RMT). An RMT may use their hands, fingers, knuckles, elbows, forearms or a device to help alleviate discomforts associated with stress, injuries, muscle imbalances, and conditions. Different types of massage may be applied such as, Swedish, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Sport or Prenatal. Devices such as Cupping or IASTM may be used as well with permission. Massage is great for all ages, disabilities, injuries, most conditions acute or chronic, health maintenance and injury prevention. Our goal is to enhance a person’s health and well being, so each Massage Therapy session is customized. Regular Massage Therapy sessions are recommended for maximum benefit. 45, 60, 75, 90 and 120 minute sessions offered.
Cupping Is an ancient form of alternative medicine based on the belief that health problems arise from stagnant blood and poor energy. Silicone or vacuum cups are applied to the skin to create negative pressure, usually used in conjunction with another therapy, such as Massage. The suction loosens and lifts the tissues, bringing a rush of new blood to the area. Static or dynamic application by a Practitioner is used to help alleviate adhesions, inflammation, pain and movement restrictions in a localized area. Cupping can leave “bruise type” marks that can last a few days. This therapy can be included in any Massage Therapy session you book.
IASTM Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization uses a medical stainless steel beveled edge blade to treat myofascial restrictions and adhesions, pain, inflammation and “tightness”. Tissues warm quickly with the scraping movement and can target areas that can’t be reached with finger, elbows or knuckles. This is a deep localized treatment, not for the whole body. IASTM is efficient and effective, and non-invasive with only a minor discomfort. The goal of IASTM is to create an environment in the body for optimal healing in a very short time. This therapy can be included in any Massage Therapy session or as an appointment by itself. 3-4 days rest between appointments is recommended.
**Sessions are customized to each client. Massage, Cupping and IASTM can be used if indicated and permitted**
